Abelard Underwriting Agency commenced operations in 1996. Our initial focus was on the provision of Personal Accident / Stated Benefits and Medical Expenses Top Up cover which, under the watchful eye of our specialist underwriter and Managing Director Dave Cox, has seen remarkable growth and success.
In 1998 Clive Norrington, and shortly thereafter Craig Diederiks, joined the ranks of the management of Abelard Underwriting Agency bringing with them expert knowledge in liability and motor insurance and consequently extending our portfolio of covers and providing insurance specifically geared to the security industry.
Notwithstanding our concentration on niche markets, over the years Abelard Underwriting Agency has been fortunate to obtain the opportunity to underwrite various other classes of insurance including Professional Indemnity, One Off Event Liability, Directors and Officers Liability and Cash-in-Transit.
2007 brought with it two new and exciting developments:-
• Underwriters at Lloyds granted AUA a binding authority to underwrite Broadform General Public Liability
• an association with Patrick Healy underwriting specialist fleet, bus and truck insurance
With the increased number of products being offered by the Agency, our staff complement has grown to a team of 20 efficient and competent Underwriting, claims and support staff who share in the commitment to service excellence and whose insurance expertise and experience and extensive knowledge of risk management have added immense value to the products and services being provided.
Ever dedicated, the management and team at Abelard Underwriting Agency maintain an ethos of professionalism and integrity and are always willing to make every attempt to accommodate client needs with a view to building mutually satisfying longstanding relationships.
